Since 2022, I have been suffering from pain and burning in my legs, back pain, and pain in my arms. After multiple appointments with my GP in since August 2022:
In April 2023 they requested an MRI for my lumbar spine and referred me to physiotherapy. I underwent an MRI on May 30, 2023, I had also about 7 sessions with the physiotherapist during that period.
On 07 August 2023, The Doctor ruled out any problems in the spine since MRI results shoes no changes?!
The MRI results indicated no issues with my lumbar spine.
and I was also discharged from physiotherapy in August 2023, with the explanation that my symptoms were stress-related.
However, I persisted and insisted on seeing a specialist. In August 2023, I received an appointment letter to see a neurologist on 24 August 2024. The pain became unbearable.
In October 2023, I travelled to Turkey and underwent a private MRI for my head, neck, and back. The neurosurgeon there informed me that I suffer from a spinal cord tumor -morphologically schwannoma- on C4 and C5, which could lead to paralysis at any time. The tumor was pressing on the cord significantly. Upon returning to the UK, I discussed this with my GP, and I was urgently admitted to the hospital for surgery, which was done in one week.
While I’m now still in recovery, it’s understandable that I feel the negligence caused permanent damage to my nerves, exacerbating my medical condition.
My neurosurgeon explained that it may take 2 years to see improvement, as the symptoms that I experienced prior to the surgery still exist.

Hi,I am curious to know your recovery.I had a tumor between c4 to c6 and it’s been 2 months and I can’t lift my head still and numb from the neck down.Did you have that problem with your head?and were you numb and how long did you recover?
Hello I’m waiting to see my GP as I had a mrcp scan for my gall bladder in September 24 and the letter to gp say benign tumor in L1 spine but no one has informed me or explained this so completely in the dark I have fibromyalgia and been putting back pain hips and legs along with other symptoms down to fibro don’t know what to do or how serious this is
You need to ask for an urgent appointment with a neurologist to determine whether it is a spinal cord tumour or not Moira. Unfortunately we cannot advise on individual medical issues , especially when relating to an unknown diagnosis. You may have to push for it so please do empthaise the pain and if you are experiencing any limb weakness and / or bowel / bladder issues. Hope everything gets sorted for you.
